Vendramini Selmer/Maccaferri guitar bridge rosewood
Selmer/Maccaferri guitar bridge rosewood
François Vendramini is known as one of the best luthiers in France. He started in the early 1990s after meeting luthier Fred Kopo. After additional training by Joël Dugot of the Cité de la Musique in Paris, he started to work intensively with the well-known French guitarist Marc Ducret. Since 2012, François has been working from his own workshop in Orléans. His predilection for historical Italian instrument making is a major influence on his instruments, as is his preference for restraint in decoration and lacquer. In addition to the acoustic and electric guitars that he builds today, his expertise in the field of Selmer guitars is highly regarded. Vendramini has recently started offering bridges for Selmer/Maccaferri guitars.
Selmer/Maccaferri bridges sold separately usually fit poorly and are often made of unknown quality wood. Vendramini bridges stand out because of:
- Fit: These bridges have slightly radiused feet and moustaches that allow the bridge to fit on the top well right out of the box. Therefore it takes a luthier (or a handy DIY guitarist) relatively little work to fit the bridge completely to size, finish and adjust it. This can potentially save a lot of time and helps to get a nice result, also for a less trained luthier.
- Finish: The design of the bridge and moustaches is beautiful and elegant, they are very neatly finished and come in a neat cardboard box.
- Material: There is a choice of five different types of wood, sourced from the Vendramini wood supply and selected by himself: Ebony, Rosewood, Bois de Rose, Roasted Flamed Maple and Roasted Flamed Walnut.
